What is Complex Trauma?
Complex trauma, or Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), happens when someone experiences repeated or prolonged trauma, often in relationships that should have been safe — like childhood neglect, abuse, or emotional harm.
Trauma doesn’t always look dramatic or obvious. Repeated emotional hurt, subtle bullying, being dismissed or feeling unseen in important relationships can leave deep marks.
Unlike single-event trauma, complex trauma can affect how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how you feel in your body.
People with complex trauma often notice:
• Feeling on high alert, tense, or anxious
• Difficulty trusting themselves or others
• Emotional ups and downs, or feeling numb
• Patterns in relationships where they repeat old dynamics
What Stabilization in Complex Trauma Coaching Does
Stabilization is about creating safety and control in your daily life. In coaching, this means we focus on practical skills and strategies to help you:
• Understand and manage triggers
• Regulate overwhelming emotions and nervous system responses
• Strengthen boundaries and self-care habits
• Notice and interrupt unhelpful patterns
This is about building a foundation — a sense of internal stability — so that you feel stronger, safer, and more able to make choices that support your wellbeing.
What You Can Expect from Working with Me:
When you work with me, you can expect a structured, supportive, and practical approach:
• We start with where you are right now — your strengths, coping strategies, and challenges
• You’ll learn specific tools for daily regulation and self-support
• Sessions are a space to explore patterns without judgment, and to experiment with new ways of being
Using Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help you connect with and care for the different parts of yourself, so you can feel more integrated, grounded and in control.
• Over time, you’ll notice more calm, clarity, and self-trust, even in situations that used to feel overwhelming
Coaching is action-oriented and empowering — it’s about giving you tools and understanding so you can move forward, rather than reliving trauma.
What stabilisation coaching is not…
Stabilization coaching is not psychotherapy.
It does not include trauma processing or the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
No medical diagnosis is provided within the coaching framework.
It does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic care.
If you are currently in acute crisis, experiencing severe dissociation, active suicidality, or require psychiatric treatment, coaching is not an appropriate setting. In such cases, local medical or psychotherapeutic support is essential.
